| More than three feet in diameter, this rosewood panel has very open fretwork that integrates stylized characters for the wish of good fortune and happiness. The design presents this traditional Chinese symbol in a sleek manner, framing the rounded fretwork with a flat outside rim. Comma-shaped tails within the characters, the only departure from geometric lines, evoke another ancient Chinese emblem for happiness--pairs of rhinoceros horns. This piece is from the latter half of the 20th century and is in excellent condition. Dimensions: diameter 39" (100 cm), depth 1-1/2" (4 cm). | ||||||
