| Hand hammered designs around the tops of copper water urns in Kathmandu, Nepal, designated particular sections of the city. This 19th century urn would have been carried to the communal well, most likely by one of the women of a household who filled the urn with water and carried it home on her head. Still today in much of Nepal many households are without running water and community wells are visited at least once every day. This copper urn has acquired a pleasing patina and is in excellent condition. Dimensions: height 15" (38 cm), diameter 13" (33 cm). | |||||
