| With right hand raised in abhaya mudra, gesture of blessing and protection, this Cambodian standing Buddha is an exceptionally graceful and serene figure. Facial features are Khmer, as is the hair, represented by a rounded head of tight curls topped with a wide ushnisha (top knot)with no finial. A cape over the body-hugging robe adds nice lines when viewed from the front and in profile. This early 20th century Buddha is cast in a white metal alloy and is in very good condition. Dimensions: height 10 1/2" (27 cm), width 3" (8 cm), depth 2 1/2" (6 cm). | |||||||||||
