From a nature study series by Lali Lomtadze of the Republic of Georgia, this mixed media on paper takes a realistic look at leaves, their patterns, shapes and role as food for insects. Noticeable in the composition are two leaves with bite-sized pieces missing, presumably the result of a bug's dinner. Apparently the artist painted just what she saw after propping the stems in a container, appropriate for her series theme of nature in a vase.
