Bearing a Russian production date seal of 1904, this samovar was found in the Republic of Georgia, once part of the former USSR. Numerous other stamps on the vessel attest to the fame and awards accorded its Russian maker. Georgians, who were under Russian rule for 70 years, followed many Russian practices, among them the customs surrounding tea drinking.
