This exotic 19th century sterling silver ceremonial necklace from the opulent past of Rajasthan was once part of the collection of a high ranking Rajput family, most likely worn by a senior member of the clan on festival days. Two peacocks perch smartly atop this early 20th century silver comb from the state of Rajasthan in North India. The handle is a reservoir for scented oil dispensed in small amounts as the comb is drawn through the hair. A cap between the peacocks screws out to allow the handle cavity to be filled.
